Searching for something more in life

Josh McDowell said, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always be what you've always been." When I first read this I knew I didn't want this quote to reflect the story of my life. I didn't want to live a mediocre life, or get stuck in a rut that could last a lifetime. I know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. I know that many girls dream big dreams for their life. And I also know that many girls get stuck at just this point exactly. We become overshadowed by our past mistakes that we can no longer even see our dreams coming true anymore. We think that we have ruined any shot of happiness that we had. We are consumed with a fog all around us that we can't see out of. As each day goes by we lose more and more hope for our future. We think to ourselves, "What has happened?" or "How will I ever move forward in life?" We tend to think this is all there is for us. We are absolutely wrong. This is not the life Christ has desired for us. Each one of us has destiny. Something God has planned for us from the very start of our life. Feelings of hopelessness only come from the devil, who does not want us to complete our destiny. The devil attacks are mind first, telling us we are no good and that we have messed up to much to be someone great. Ladies we do not need to feel hopeless. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

I feel that a lot of us girls are struggling with feelings of hopelessness. The next couple of blogs will deal with specific steps on how to over come this negative lifestyle. If you have specific issues that you would like me to address just write me a message in my inbox on facebook and I'll make sure to cover those things in the next blog.

Can we break God's heart?

Through God's eyes we are everything, He loves us so intensely we can barely comprehend it. No matter where we go in life or what we do He is always close by our side even if what He sees breaks His heart He does not leave us. In Ezekiel 34:16 it says, "I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak." This is a God who does not give up on his sheep. If God only wanted to be in a relationship with the perfect, than He would have never come to die on the cross for us sinners. But He did, because He wants to be close to you and me. Funny though how us women only desire the love of a man. We will go to extreme lengths to impress a man. And in that case it's only natural because that man is all we think about therefore, all of our energy goes towards trying to please him in return for his affections. But imagine ladies turning all of that energy and emotion toward our Father and creator. You see we don't have to bid for His attention, it is automatically given to us. Just as we would be heartbroken to love someone deeply and have it not be returned to us, we can break God's heart in the same way. It is not a bad thing to desire the love of a man, but it is vital to know that your heart should firstly belong to God, for He has been there from the very beginning and has watched you grow into the beautiful woman that you are today! Lets do this together by giving God the key to our hearts, guide our thoughts to things of Him, and speak to Him through prayer about your deepest feelings. I guarantee you He's listening!

How do we know when it's the wrong guy?

God knows exactly what man he has for us, but the question is... how do we know? When deciding whom we should date it could kinda feel like walking into a room with all the lights turned off. We cannot read a guys mind and know what he wants, or how he feels. So in a sense we are blinded. But we do not have to be in that dark room alone. Our Father who watches us so carefully, can see so clearly in all darkness. He is the only one that can see and truly know a man's heart. It says in 1chronicles 28:9 "...for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts." So if we serve a all knowing God, than why do not trust him? In fact, when it comes to our dating lives we have basically shut him out completely! We chose to trust our own wisdom verse the all powerful wisdom of our Lord God. Ladies lets give up our control we so dearly hold on to when it comes to being in relationships. Let us move forward setting out dating guidelines according to the word of God. But we can only know what that looks like if we are reading His word daily. For now here are some things to think about...... If our relationship is not helping us grow closer to Christ, than it probably isn't the one. A boyfriend should encourage us to put Christ as our first love. If we have to pull away from our friends and family when in a relationship, than something isn't right. We can only see a persons true character when we see the way he treats the people we love most. Also, if he isn't the man of your dreams right now, he won't be in a year from now either. Ladies God desires the best for us and all we have to do is trust Him. Nobody says it's going to be easy, but how else does God build our faith and prove his love to us!

Christ as our first love

Most girls dream about the man who will one day come to sweep her off her feet away from all her troubles and fears. He would be her knight and shining armor the love of her life, the man of her dreams...... And then reality hits in. She enters a relationship with a young man, who isn't everything she expected him to be, and is definitely no knight in shining armor. She is devastated, she thinks, "What happened to my fairy tail, where is my prince charming.?"... The answer isn't complicated, her heart has been broken because this young man did not resemble any Christ like character. Ok if I lost some of you, let me explain. We girls have been made with a heart that desires Christ and everything that is within Him. He has unfailing compassion, loves without cost, endlessly forgiving, represents truth at all times, and through all His amazing power is evermore humble. We were made to long for these things because Christ Himself created us, He created us to desire Him. He is the only one that can fulfill our hearts 100%. For nobody is perfect. Christ has all this love for us and yet it can go by completely unnoticed. Our hearts ache and we are willing to fill it with just anybody. Be we shouldn't sell our selves so short, because the purpose of marriage itself is to mirror our relationship with Christ. For example, how can we possibly love someone if we never experience real true love with Christ first? He is our maker, teacher, Father, and He alone is our first prince charming. And any man who doesn't not have Christ like characteristics will never satisfy our hearts and souls. I know this is a lot, but I just want to share with you ladies that Christ is our first love and He wants the best for His daughters and any man who does not live like Him is unworthy for all His princesses!

Why have a relationship with God?

Many people look at Christianity as just a religion, but it is more than that. It is having a relationship with our creator. This may be a new concept for some but it is one that has changed my life entirely. So why have a relationship with the creator of the universe? Because the God who created the galaxies and planets also created you. He is a God of great detail. Psalms 147:4 "He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name." This God formed you in your mothers womb at His exact timing. He had your name on His lips when He was hung on the cross. And still today He desires to be close to you.... if you'll let Him. To deny His love for you is to deny the truest most purest love of your life. So.... if that is you sister and you want to draw in closer to your creator than stick around and well talk some more about it!
